The communications have been much better this year....not even close.
I do strongly agree with several of the points above. The ramp up sounds great but in practice it just means to ignore the start of the promotion or hoard things and wait. Much better to lay it all out, let people discuss strategies and then work toward the goals. A few surprises along the way are great but having the "real" or "best" part of the promo soooo heavily weighted at the end takes away from the overall promo in my opinion.
AND, the point about playing this all day on a holiday is valid. Expecting folks to grind all day on Thanksgiving or Christmas to get the benefit of the promo just isn't a good practice.
