To me, the AH is shrouded in mystery. I'm sitting here juggling 4 bidding wars and after all this time I thought I'd ask if anyone knows how it actually works.
Specifically, who am I bidding against? Is it almost always the bot, or is it often other players? How dominant is the AH bot?
I'll give two scenarios to highlight my confusion:
Scenario 1: Underpriced player X has had 1 bid at the minimum for hours, but then I attempt to snipe the bid with
More often than not this is a bot I'm bidding with, correct? This has happened dozens of times, and it just seems highly unlikely that someone who placed a bid HOURS prior to expiration is just sitting on their phone waiting to be outbid. Sure, it may happen now and then that the timing matches up. But every time? So doubtful.
