While everything you said about EA not wanting to increase the level cap to make Walter Payton look better has validity to it, it wouldn't make him obsolete. Unless his stats are abysmal, in which case the Ricky Williams point is irrelevant. If the Payton is on-par with the Barry Sanders they dropped in Madden 18 for Thanksgiving, then he'll last for quite awhile, which is fine by me.
