There are bots that are matched up against real players These bots mirror/shadow the teams of other real players, thus artificially increasing the size of the player base.
The film of these bots doesn't match up with their scoring output or timing, so their scores are either determined prior to the game or during the game.
These bots don't take up spots on the leader board or otherwise record any stats, so you aren't even playing against a bot that's playing the same game, you're just playing against a number on the scoreboard that increases at some given rate
These bots are occurring at all levels of OD, in un-ranked and ranked and from the lower divisions all the way to the top of the leader board (proven by multiple screenshots from OP and other users in this thread)
The number of bots or the percentage of games the average REAL player plays against bots is still unknown to us, anecdotes from this thread indicate that there are a significant number of these bot matches though.
