The most likely explanation is that you are just not that good. Your spamming scoring capability started to lose out to increased defensive tactics.
It is typically easier to score at the end of matches. Frankly, I don’t see these anomalies you see. Seems like it is a consequence of your style of play (by style I mean not knowing how to play better so you use only a play or three).
