So, if I call a "Dive" play from I-FORM PRO, then from I-FORM TWINS with motion to make it I-FORM PRO again; then call another "Dive" play from SB DEUCE CLOSE, how are you going to program THAT? Or "Pitch" or "Toss" or "Stretch".... you get the idea...
It is not as easy as saying that the AI should stop the "same plays" because as soon as you do that, people will simply find ways to exploit it too. Everyone needs to face it, Madden is NOT football and football knowledge and sense only go so far in playing it.
Madden is exploitation of the 10 non-user controlled players, and programming and animations to get a desired result - usually a completed pass to a "playmakered" receiver who magically goes where no defense has gone before on every play. Every year its the same thing, and it always will be.
The only solution is to split the online gamers into 2 camps - "simulation/real football" and "arcade/tourney". One stays with 4 or 5 minute quarters and the usual nonsense of animation driven results. The other lengthens the games to 7-8 minute quarters, smartly uses accelerated clock to keep the total time per game under 45 minute real time and installs a series of changes that effect game play through play calling, situational awareness, player ratings and traits, statistical likelihood and field position. 80% of the "community" will say they want "sim" / "real football" but within 3 weeks of release, 80% of the online games will be in the "arcade/tourney" space because while Madden players SAY they want more realism, what the majority REALLY wants is 300 yard passing, 2 x 100 yard WR, 100 yards rushing and 5-7 TDs in 20 minutes of gameplay, period.
