Back to Blitz Program Overview: Masters Chris Johnson and Lamar Jackson

Single thread,

This. There’s been nothing for the Chiefs

Giants got screwed too as EA hates them. Luckily they can’t avoid giving us an LT upgrade tonight with NFL 100 although I’m sure they’d try

Oh, just you watch. I'm sure he makes the list, but you can never predict the fuckery of EA.

Its been a dry month or two for the Chiefs. Nice rush at the beginning of the year, now we have a mediocre QB card (also the title athlete), an 86 card for the best DT in the AFC, and only one Elite OL from the current team. The only thing saving my Chiefs squad are some of the legends who played with KC for a year or two (Law, Surtain, Allen). Fingers crossed for a Derrick Thomas 100 card as one of the best ever LBs.

Don't get your hopes up. The old men making the list are blinded by nostalgia and have forgotten the last twenty years of football. Just watch, there aren't going to be any players who played primarily in the 21st century on the list, except for maybe Randy Moss.

You were correct about not having DT, but he died in 2000, so was almost entirely a 20th century player. The spirit of your comment is accurate. They definitely set their focus on early NFL players.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with my comment. I didn't mean to suggest that DT wouldn't make it because he was a 21st century player. I was thinking he probably wouldn't make it because Seau and Lewis played in the same era. I just also wanted to point out how they were excluding the more recent NFL players. So far no one on the list had started their NFL career after 1996. Very poor list.

Its a tough list to make. In reality, I think if today's guys payed yesterdays, they'd dominate the early guys. Training technology, strategy, nutrition etc have come such a long way. Along with that, the system is more complete from pee-wee through college making the talent pool significantly larger. The"best of the best" are coming from such a large pool, they are physically on a different level. That being said, the early guys were tough as nails and they carved the path. Forgetting that would be like putting down Einstein because today scientist know so much more than he did. You have to acknowledge that every great player shows the next great player what can be done. Take one perspective or the other, and your lists are vastly different. I would like to see a better mix though.
