In regards to the ban, I had the exact same thought process when I saw other people complaining about bans. I thought they had to be lying. A couple months ago I got hit with the “coin selling/trading” AH ban from using the app. After almost 3 weeks of calling/chatting with EA Help and Microsoft, I finally got it resolved. I’ve since deleted the app and won’t spend a penny on points ever again.
