People need to stop complaining about the “Legend” label. Is he a “legend” per say, No obviously not. But it’s just a loose title and a way to give these Team Diamonds an upgrade. They did this last year too. Yes, we all want the Walter Payton’s, and Bruce Smith’s and whoever else to get Legend cards but they usually end up being a promo master of some kind. Keep in mind it’s January and we’ve had a lot of new players in the game this year, so we’re bound to get some re-used names. As long as the card itself is good, I’m not really tripping. I will say though, why give us another 97 OVR TE when we just got Tony G basically a week ago? EA’s gonna EA.
You're wrong! Stop making excuses for EA's laziness and overall lack of creativity. Think about it: EA used a 97 (NINETY-SEVEN!) LEGEND slot on Jermichael Finley! PFR has him listed as the 9094th most efficient player of all-time. Of all the other players ranked higher than him on that list (that actually have a card this year), NONE are rated higher than a 96.
So when do you suppose they give him an upgrade as a packers fan i know he wasn't a legend and throughout his career had mad drops. However, I can't be mad EA do my theme team dirty every year and finally they showing love ill take it.
You get the point. You were being thick splitting hairs. N if we are doing that then yes the PU did get new tiers released as well, including the 97 tier.
It’s like you completely ignored the part where I said he clearly wasn’t a legend. They’re not “wasting” a legend slot. Either they have a player’s rights or they don’t. Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith for example. They have their rights this year, and they haven’t gotten cards yet, but I’d bet money they get Super Bowl or Playoff cards. What difference does it make whether they get a Legend card or a promo card? I’m telling you that this is a pattern EA has done for the past 2 years. And we’re getting to the end of the Legends promo, so I’m just not surprised. Complaining about someone not being a legend is pointless because the people that they have the rights to, the real legends, are going to get a new card at some point.
Just to clarify, I completely get what you're saying about getting new players released. I just found it odd that your original comment came under this particular card so early in the thread. My argument wasn't against everything you said.
The promo actually does matter. Especially with "Legends." That LTD gives him a 97 and saves a ton on training and the need for a PuP. Only Legend LTD's get a free pass on training costs. They could've given him a Flashback for that one decent season he had where he still wasn't a Pro Bowler or named All-Pro. Shamefully, it pretty much guarantees him a UL. Sad.
Down votes for stating facts, because I disagreed with Jermichael Finley being a legend or because I'm not ok with 'legend" being a loose term for a program meant for the best players to ever play the game?

Fair point but at the end of the day it's still Jermichael Finley. Lol.

That powers up to a 97. Lol
The powerup isn't the card released. That's a whole different card. We are on 96 Legend cards
