I'm going to ignore the Rodgers heresy cause honestly at this point you sound like a spurned lover. Anyhow, like I said in a previous post, Love has played lights out in the past 8 games. What makes this even more impressive is that he has THE WORST (aka youngest) receiving core in the league. Unless you play regs or fantasy football, there's no way a casual could name a single WR or TE that he is throwing the ball to. I expected him to play well, but lose in a shootout to the Cowboys. I should've known of course that Dak and the 'boys would choke like they have for the last 30 years, but the most shocking part of that game was how good the Packers D appeared. We've been calling for Joe Barry to be fired for months. Everyone has heard this stat, but they are dead last (32nd) on pass defense inside the numbers. I'm honestly still confused how bad Dak was, because their pass defense really is atrocious. 2 short drives ending in punts and 2 interceptions including a pick-6 to have his team down 27-0 near the end of the 2nd quarter was insane.
To the 49ers game, I expect this to be a shootout where both QBs play really well. In the same way the Packers have owned the Cowboys though, the 49ers have owned the Packers for years in the playoffs. Maybe Love can break the curse, but I'll take the Niners 31-24 in a back and forth game.
We also need to give some credit to LaFleur. He won't be mentioned as a COTY with Stefanski, Ryans, Steichen, Campbell, but what he's done not only to develop Love and call a gameplan around him, but also to take the NFL's youngest team to the 2nd round of the playoffs when everyone said it was gonna be a rebuilding year w/o Rodgers is one of the more impressive jobs in the league. The narrative and myth that he was only good because of A-Rod has been busted.
