If you spend a bit of cash on upgrading your team and play quite a bit then I could see them not holding too much value.
But for me, I spend no money in game and only spend maybe an hour or so a day on average grinding some solos chilling out in the evening.
Some of my rookies didn’t hold up too long even for me, but Barkley was the obvious stand out until I got Ricky up to a good level. Hayden Hurst albeit a nothing year for him in real life held up nicely at TE for me for a lot of the year, especially when Ghosts of Madden dropped.
I managed about five last year I think. Overall it was five positions where I had slightly above average players at the start of the year and didn’t need to worry too much about upgrading those positions in any rush.
There is also that excitement that they may have a great game and get a totw card early on and shoot up in ovr. Over hyped? Possibly. A bit of fun at the end of the year that slides over to the new game. For sure.
