In order to get an average of 65 that means there are people who test at the lower end of the spectrum i.e. an IQ of 56 (the country of Equatorial Guinea) and those that test on a slightly higher end, an IQ of 71 (the country of Kenya). And in the U.S. the average IQ for African Americans is roughly a bit above 80. The average IQ throughout the world has been approximately 100 for quite sometime. That’s roughly a 20 point differential. So for every “1 or even 100 out of 8 billion” African Americans with a genius IQ (which is approximately 140), there are 7.9 billion with an IQ in the 56-80+ range, so that “doesn’t exactly change the stereotype 😅.” Does it? To put that into further perspective, the IQ of a moron (a crude dated term, but once prominently used in psychology and psychiatry) is between 51-70. Therefore, a vast majority of those living in Africa have an IQ equivalent to a moron, or those with learning disabilities. Moreover, that means the average IQ of African Americans living in America is only roughly 10 points above those who would be considered mentally delayed. Of course to get this average IQ (approximately 80+) you would still have those who would test on the low side, say 70. And those who test on the high side side, say 90. Therefore, there are a vast majority of African Americans who still have an IQ equivalent to those with learning disabilities. Before you cite that this is because of institutional racism, I’ll simply point you back to your ancestors who have a 10 to roughly 30 point disadvantage than you (maybe?🤔) in IQ points, which proves that environment can have an effect on learning. Thus, living in the United States has improved African Americans IQ scores, but not to the point of reaching the mean or average, which is 100. Nature vs nurture (genes vs environment). And 100 is just average. You would need to raise your IQ another 40 points just to reach 120, which is considered above average. Isn’t learning fun? I understand that black people are gifted athletically, generally more so than any race. And I’m ok with that. However, I was simply pointing out how absurd mutman42069’s statement was. At the same time, each race has strengths and weaknesses. And while African Americans are athletically gifted, they are generally not gifted intellectually.
