It's a little complicated. You get to select from majority of players that got a card this year so long as they haven't retired and presumably aren't an O lineman, kicker, or punter (This was a restriction in previous years but wasn't stated by EA this year). You also have to build off a preexisting card. If you wanted to make a player but someone else selected them first, you have to reselect except in the rare case that you and another player selected the same player but on different sides of the ball. For example, if I choose FS Calvin Johnson and you select WR Calvin, that works. However, if I select WR Calvin and you want a TE Calvin (based on his OoP UL card), you would need to reselect your player because I selected first. EA can also refuse to make a card and make you reselect.
TLDR; Any preexisting card that isn't an o lineman, kicker, or punter and hasn't retired this year. You cannot select a player if someone already selected them but you can make one on the opposite side of the ball if they already have a card to build on. EA can choose to decline you selection and make you repick.
Dosnt have to be on roster- but must be a MUT card that already exists- excluding and players that retired last season. (No Eli manning, antonio gates, etc.)
And yeah you get the card you create- i dont think its NAT tho. So thas good.
I think im gonna do lawrence guy. DT is a big hole on pats theme team- and hed also work for colts/ravens/packers/chargers... so itll b helpful to quite a few others as well.
So from what i understand- if i were to win- id start with his 87ovr veteran card- they make it a 99- allowing me to edit 3 stats on my own (within reason i assume- cant give brady 99 speed ttpe stuff) and they also get an extra ability slot- and id get to pick what abilities he has/archetype he is. They make the card- u get one... and then they add it to packs for everyone else.
You're spot on man, also I believe you can't pick a OL or K/P for it, based on previous years' restrictions and yes pick only 3 skill attributes to boost and the rest are at the mercy (hah!) of what EA decides lol
Does he have to be somebody on my roster or can I choose anybody?

Got it, thanks! They did announce that you can only boost 3 skill attributes, so nothing physical like speed, acceleration, etc.
