HR: How to stop MLB blitz?

I played several hr games yesterday and struggled heavily in one of them. my opponent usered his mlb and blitzed almost every play through the a gap. And I was absolutely unable to stop that resulting in a lot of sacks, following punts. Sometimes I managed to pass to a short crossing route, but most of my passing attempts to the sides/flats didn't gain the necessary 5 yards.
How can I adjust my lineup/gameplay to stop these blitzes? I had decent players in my oline, but the a-gap as always open :(
