can someone tell me why/how my 98wr ratings with CIT at 95 drops the ball with a 99cb on his tail? I literally have to be wide open otherwise they drop or it’s a tip and INT...it’s ridiculous with the chemistry schemes to purchase.
Really pissed me off the other day when I was down in a Solo Battle vs 99 ovr. Down by 6 with 2 seconds left. Called a 10 yard TE drag and my TE flat out dropped the ball in the endzone. Nobody around him.
Exactly. Doesn't matter what receiver it happens to all of them, seems like my Jerry Rice can't catch a cold.

The top WRs in the NFL don't drop the ball as often as they do in Madden. Not all secondarys hit hard enough to force a drop pass on great WRs. Its not realistic at all.

I find it to be one of the only things that's somewhat realistic.

Because it's part of the game?
It's actually part of real life. TO probably dropped as many balls as any of the great WR'ers. Guys, even greats, drop the ball, particularly when they're looking to catch and run.
This has always been one of the more annoying aspects of madden. For years. Console and mobile.

Apparently, I was pushing the wrong button and if you see RAC or Possession catch on screen you need to hit the right button. Square for RAC and X for Possession. That has helped my WRs catching a lot.
But yeah, isn't it unreal how that happens. Whats even more crazy is I know exactly what games my players gonna not perform to their ratings. Its odd, as soon as the game slows down on passes, runs and catches it never fails. The passes NEVER go the direction or type I am trying to make it go and my WR even with 97 speed are slow running to the ball. I guess "Its in the Game"
My wrs all 99s drop a lot of balls as well even if I have the dbs beat or get a high jump ball. However, my opponent with the same player or even lower rated wrs make unreal catches.

I also just found out there is a "Chemistry" upgrade called "Footsteps", where if you have this on your Defender, it causes the WR more likely to drop ...does that even make sense ? Now i see why my WR drops so much around guys who have 99 Defenders bc they play enough to purchase these things and know the ins-outs of this game...smh
dude... it costs literally 5000 coins worth of training to get footsteps lmao
@PingDingPress
There are more better WRs that catch the ball in real life, than there are great CBs that are so good that WRs just drop the ball.
And the point is if the WR is going to have a 95 CIT, then he should be catching the ball more than he drops.

Not saying high rating WRs shouldn't drop balls, but they should catch more often then they do drop they have a few steps on the CB. I also find it unrealistic a CB can leap 5 yrds to INT when my WR was clearly a few yards ahead.
darn, footballs are slippery little things... must be the programming of the WR gloves.. it's a game, and will NEVER be perfect for everyone. Now if the WR caught everything then there would be a thread about how CB's suck..

@drpeacedeaths
I said "Defender", and I have this on my LBs and it certainly isn't useless. The point is the whole "Chemistry" upgrade overrides a few attributes of your opponents...like there is a chemistry upgrade where it lesson's the throw accuracy of the QA when pressure is near, whats the point of that when there is an attribute for throwing under pressure already for a QB?
99 Jarvis Landry, 98 Keyshawn, and 98 Andre Reed and they all drop balls consistently. EA, it's in the game
