Quote from taterman >> Good. The Jets are a mockery, they're a bunch of raccoons in a big trenchcoat, and they deserve to be disrespected. What kind of franchise goes through what they do? They flat-out need to be more intelligent and tactful. When Jamal Adams says "I want to stay here" and they still shop him? That's treating a person as a commodity.
Imagine if you told your boss "I like this job a lot. I know things aren't great right now, but I want to help turn them around, and I really appreciate how well the team/community has embraced me." and then the office in Dallas calls your boss and says "listen, we like that kid, can we quite literally buy him off you?" And instead of understanding how important your current position is to you, and respecting that, he says "I'm listening..." and then turns around to say "you know what? We don't care if you stay here or not."
I like Adams but I never liked the pick we needed a QB and the Jets passed Mahomes and Watson to grab Adams who has been the jets best player but nowhere near the Impact on the team a Deshaun Watson or Mahomes would have
we will finish below 500 with Jamal Adams or without so if we can get a high number 1 and a 2nd rounder im all in
Everyone is sniffing around Adams he'll be gone soon and it's bad for Jets fans
I think Adams wants out there were reports supposedly from his friends that he was hoping be would go to the Cowboys
I think he will be gone after his rookie contract expires regardless the Jets will pay him for his option year and then he will be a free agent after that and Adams will be anle to go where he wants
I doubt they would use a franchisee tag on him as they have only tagged 4 other players and they are a cheap team
moving Adams now would have been good for both but Cowboys offer wasnt what Douglas wanted
Quote from BigGame8128 >> Lmao Raccoons in a trenchcoat. I also agree with what you said as well. You should never go behind a rising star (or employees back) and treat them like dog shit. Adams was 100% in the right to speak out. But doing it in a public forum brings him down to the Jets level of Racoon.
Nah, I don't think so. When you're publicly declared expendable, that's reason enough to fire back publicly, unless you've stated or been open to the idea that you want to be traded. Adams never gave that impression for a second.

GT and I have debated about whether or not the Bengals did the right thing with their aging stars, but this is so different. Jamal Adams is a talented star in the making, and still very young, and he's verbally committing to doing the grunt work to help pull the Jets from mediocrity. Meanwhile, they punish Kelechi Osemele for getting surgery and preventing further damage by releasing him, and shopping their biggest FA pickup in years (Bell), and their most promising young player (Adams).
So I work a corporate gig (trying to climb the ladder unfortunately) and know the dos and dont
s of the the business world. One of them is criticizing your boss in a public forum. Closed door meetings and 1 on 1`s are different. If I did, I would more than likely be fired within 24 hours. Why? Because it helps create a culture of leadership and accountability and I understand that.
At the end of the day the NFL is a business. The Jets GM is Jamal Adams boss. Why does he think it is okay for him to call out his boss? Three reasons:
1) The trade deadline is passed so he knows that they can no longer trade him. He can say what he wants knowing that he wont be going anywhere. This trickles to number 2:
2) Cowboys offered a 1st rounder and they declined. This means that they KNOW that they can not afford to bench him. This trickles to number 3:
3) They know that they can not trade him and benching him is not an option, so Adams KNOWS that they will not cut him.
