Every year we had events automatically load in. Either EA does not want people to know what is coming.

Because of the new event system. If you notice Season Battles Season 2 people didnt do the regular games and only did the superbowl. Also, Totw and legends gold+ packs that didnt require waiting.
Most likely option 2, but could just be because of the new system this year.
