In the past promos this year we were able to grinding events without any sort of restrictions, only handicap being stamina. Over the last couple of promos I find it very annoying that we have to pay a "premium" to continue to grind events for promo. Granted 100 gems isn't a big deal couple of times, but you're now tied to use two resources to grind an event. Maybe it's just me, but I find this "feature" extremely annoying and unnecessary. In no way it improves customer experience.
