Gauging Your Own Lack of OD Interest

Don't get me wrong, I know the game isn't perfect and I have plenty of complaints, the three biggest being:

but I'm playing because I love the game. It's football, we get a 'free' pack every 4 hours, love my new league, I can't wait for the next promo. and I love building my team (even if I can't easily improve it much right at this moment).
My favorite part was league. I been in my league for 3 years now and it's a shame what's happened to my league.. we were at 24 members beginning of the season and now are down to 11 with half of those asking to be sat because of lack of interest. We stayed all season in top 400-700 rank as a league and this season we are closer to 2500 because of lack of play. I am most upset over that . If the rest decide to leave I honestly might leave myself because the game content isn't enough to keep me in the game. I hate sets now. I hate they're basically is no way to grind for a player you want.
It's really a shame that Madden has turned into this... I guess they are still making money so there is no reason to change it for them but I think they have lost a huge percentage of their older players. This game makes it it is because of new players who dont know what it used to be
I am definitely playing Madden Overdrive quite half-heartedly this season. Well, I'm still pretty wholehearted with my LvL and Survival drives (not least because I'm the commish of my league), but I am otherwise playing in a very half-arsed fashion. I do tend to go in and out quite a bit on NFL game days to try and catch events for Mics, but otherwise my routine is to log in, do most Daily Goals (although I seldom bother with "Win Three OD Matches with X Captain or Coach" unless I can use my Hudson/Nagy combination), claim a few things in the Store, start a new LvL and kick anyone who ignored their non-playing warning, play LvL and Survival drives, do a few Live Events (although there are some, like any passing into moving zones events or Road Less Travelled, Mine Field or Maze that I avoid like the plague), maybe do a little training (not that training means much this season) and clear off again.
Even when there have been promos running, I haven't spent that much more time in the game. No way was I going to spend hours and hours playing Overdrive to get the really big-name players. I just did daily events and the odd bit of minor spamming, but otherwise made minimal effort. Yet I still got several elite players (albeit fairly modest ones) from them, so I was happy enough. Kickoff Luck has been my QB ever since that promo, and I've been pretty pleased with him.

I can't play H2H in the middle of the day, someone called me 6 times yesterday and I lost a bunch of matches. I am just inside the top 100 and it makes no sense grinding for it, I am only going to sell Wentz. It makes more sense selling any player I get than spending hours playing ranked.
I’m doing 3 drives every 4 hours for my OD pack and LvL stuff. The OD packs are remaining unopened for MF I’m on holidays at the moment from work, so I did finish season mode, but that won’t be happening again.
if they added some grindable events that you could access via a subscription, I’d probably be paying for it and doing them, but I see no value in doing any of the Vets, HW, FB programs.
Addiction doesn’t usually allow people to walk away. Would probably have to take smart phones away. And I don’t see that happening.
- Log in and claim the OD pack I earned before falling asleep.
- Do my daily goals
- Play LVL & Survival
- Build 3000 points in OD to claim a pack in 4 hours.
- Log back in after 4 hours to claim pack and build another 3K points for 4 hours later.
- Repeat step 5Not much to do and kind of refreshing to spend less and less time on it.

But it seems like most of the posters in this thread hate it. I don't really think I could make a comment like some of the ones made in this thread and keep playing, what keeps you going?
I haven't played in over a week. I used to play daily, sometimes logging in multiple times a day.
The funny thing is I play Asphalt9 and Hawk Freedom Squad for about 20 minute max a day and they have much better rewards, both games I nearly have all the rewards without ever spending a dime.

I deleted the game a few weeks ago and couldn’t be any happier.
I too was no longer having fun playing the game and became to realize that it just isn’t worth it anymore. It’s not worth my time and energy and money. Why grind for a player that will be obsolete in a month.
I miss coming on this site but all in all i am having more “fun” time with my wife that i have been missing being addicted to this game so once again thank you to EA for stopping my addiction and helping me get back in the groove with my wife!
i was angry at first, then i deleted the madden app and i feel better. this game isnt going to get any better, maybe next year but not me, im done for good.
I do it by force of habit, but I’d be happier with myself if I quit altogether.
My interest is exceptionally low. MF better be amazing. If it's more OD based that's impossible to grind and cash packs for the elites, then I'm out.

league play is all i really do anymore. dont want to abandon my league but might have to cause this game is getting boring as heck
After making it through the decidedly underwhelming quad hub, LVL, daily goals and survival, I realized that there was zero reason to log back on today. I actually moved the Madden icon off of my first page of icons so I'd stop absent-mindedly clicking on it out of force of habit. Even some silliness that stopped a LVL drive in its tracks (a non-throwing QB getting sacked, a major drop and missing an open WR) was just met by a shrug and a laugh. In the past, I would've been ticked off for the rest of the day.
How is everyone else holding up in the face of a season that the OD team sees as a great success?
