I hear ya, but many of us have succumbed to that harsh reality. I don’t love it, but this would make me more inclined to grind.
Just an idea.

No, the hole is EA won't get $100 from us, or Ea thinks they wont get $100 from us, since nobody wants a tribute card that is already irrelevant.
I’ve been thinking about what would make the overdrive mode more engaging for me. What if instead of a two week season in which we compete for fans toward rank, we were accumulating fans as a currency to be used to purchase a featured player in 3 ovr iterations.
example. I don’t want Carson Wentz. Love the guy but I’m set at QB. As such, I’ve checked out of the OD mode for 2 weeks. Not worth the grind for a card I don’t need.
What if instead, I was playing OD to accumulate fans/currency to use toward a player that might be featured next season? I can play OD like normal, winning and losing currency, free to grind until I have enough for the version I want; say 200k for the 82, 300k for the 86, and a cool million for the 90.
Im engaged every season, grinding away at my leasure. EA keeps me interested even when the current season features a player I don’t want/need.
Where is the flaw in this system? Shoot holes in this idea, please.
