Difficulty level?

I had to put the game away tonight after going 1-9. Only 1 matchup lower rank than me. I’m gold III so why do they keep matching me with HoF ranked players? I don’t care if we have the same power. If I normally score 900-1000 points why is it an even match to play people who score 1250-1500 points. I don’t get the matching system and I spend most of my time while  playing questioning why I play. This isn’t what a game like this should feel like

Should we put the elites away and use a gold lineup?
