Here is one of the reasons why you can score 1800+ in one game and only score 800 points in the next game.

Since EA said there is no DDA. And I see no reason why they need to lie. So given there is no DDA, we have to think differently. And EA already covers the matchup algorithm that you are going to face equal "skill" player in most matches. It is hard to get free win by facing a noob. So, based on these facts, I have to draw a different conclusion about OD. This is based on my last night 2 matches where I played the same guy twice in a row. First game, he scored 2400 points. Second game, he scored 1200 points. So, what make up the difference?

From my experience, each play is assigned by 7 to 9 different defensive formation. It mixes with blitz, man and zone. Like running in the middle, you are not going to beat that blitz formation. But for some passing play, you can beat all of them. However, this is not enough.
