i ended up with a decent draft and got super lucky to nab julio jones as my primary receiver. it was 90% chucking for me. i found a few pa plays that consistently worked well....the one in the first row all the way to the right and also "pin deep" jones was my right side receiver ....i loaded up my D and went with pass defense coaches and played pretty well....lots of safeties and shut outs....i won 34 games and ended up with an elite gp that i already had...lol....before bed i was around 1,600...im not sure where i was at 3:30am est except for in bed.

thanks guys for participating in the thread.

Quote from yosemite1 >> I ran the ball most of the time as I had a decent RB with 119 speed. Scored 6 90+ TDs. I didn't have a TE and my WR and QB were mediocre so I settled on the run after the first two games. Went 15-1 with the loss being a 8-8 tie (lost by a second). I had two 90+ speed DEs (which is pretty lame I know) and a decent DT. Only a MLB, no other LBs and a 100+ secondary with no outstanding player (best was a 105 safety which name I don't even remember). My game plan proved very good as I scored 6 safeties and many stops (only 3 of my opponents scored). I didn't care for time but tried to score on every drive (which I did). Although my game plan was good (the usual long bomb suspects, Tomlin level 4 and Coach Madden level 4 (replacing Andy Reid after game 2)) I did not have a single interception but I don't complain. So...if you are stuck with a mediocre receiver corps and a QB that moves as quickly as paint dries give the run game a try if you have a decent HB.

Hope and pray EA doesn't screw you over with a craptastic draft. If possible draft a QB somewhat early. Ended up with 24/7 Tannehill figuring I'd get a replacement option and one never came. But really speed kills as always. Hard counters mean virtually nothing again.

Idk about offense heavy. I'd say get what you need - qb, hb, wrs, te, and the rest a front 4 (for safetys) and secondary.

Use a commonly uncountered play to get out from goalline

It keeps logging me out of MM every time I click on the tournament!

And I get TOTW Diggs as the best WR i saw in all rounds and the only elite WR/TE I took...this tournaments are really becoming annoying/about luck with your picks.

I use a pass play that is not commonly countered, absolutely NO PLAY ACTION THOUGH. And DO pick a gameplan which includes lots of cheese-play counters, as this can net you very very many safeties.

I was lucky to get Rod Smith last time on this tourney, and put the rest into defense... Won many games 10-0

I'd be VERY careful about running a PA play right off the bat. Could be an insta-sack.

Quote from bigboybuckeyenuts >> Weak I FB Dive as the first play to give yourself some space. Then emphasis on long pass plays to score faster.

yeah, I got the top Mariota in a tourney with these rules.  I almost always used fb dive.  Even when countered, you usually get 5-6 yards, then bomb.  Sometimes I would start with HB toss and you can usually get 5 from that even if countered too

I like to run it on the first play up the middle to create a little space.  If your Offensive OVR is high enough the low and medium severity counters should still make gaining some yards doable.  After that, it depends on what players you draft.  If you get a 120+ HB, TE, or WR, I'd try to find plays that go to them versus other players.

Schmooyohoo

Just be methodic in the passing plays you chose. Don't force plays if they aren't there
