I am kind of baffled at the 20k rushing yards achievement that needs to be done in overdrive. This is the type of decision that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. The issue being that if someone wants to grind for 20k rushing yards they will most likely lose every (or almost every) match that they play, therefore losing a lot of fans.
Its pretty silly because it’s almost punishment (video game punishment for those who might exaggerate and take the term punishment to some crazy level and out of context 😉) to grind for yards, just to have to grind to get back what was lost in fans.
I understand the concept of the new H2H, but Mr. Price and others at EA, you have to understand that a massive majority of players are going to do what they need to do to win. So, if people are pass heavy trying to score quickly, that is what EVERYONE will have to do to win. Hardly anyone will ever get to play within the depth that the concept has within it. I believe that the biggest flaw within the concept is the 3 minute live drives. Until it isn’t timed, the same issues will continue throughout the season.
I went with smashmouth for no particular reason and so I've been running a fair bit so far - I'm a very mediocre gameplay player so I'm not winning every game but I'm also nowhere near losing every game; healthily over .500 so far.
I'm at 711 rushing yards and 850 pass yards on the way to 20k/25k.
Yeah, I think more people would warm up to the whole concept of Overdrive if it were less time-consuming. The beauty of seasons past is that like Eric said, it was something that was done "in between" real life. That's the main issue, in my opinion.

However, as I've been saying in other threads, the goal of the game is to make every strategy viable, including running. It's funny, we had an internal tournament in May and nobody passed because running was so overpowered. Now, of course, it's gone too far the other way. But I do think that once we get the game balanced the way we want, long passes to receivers will be punished accordingly and you'll have to be more strategic in how you play.
Good point about unranked games, although it would be nice to be able to gain fans/winning during the grinding process, if that makes sense.
