Before I begin, I'm only talking about the MM Raffles. I have no input on the console MM Raffles.
Before the EA AH ban witch hunt back in November, 1 MHC was worth about 1,000,000 coins in MM. The Expected Value of 1 MHC was 900,000 coins because 100,000 coins went to EA.
However now that we can't trade MHC for MM coins directly, we have to partake in these Raffles if we want any coins for our MHC.
With the raffles, we are competing with roughly 100 other bids for one card.
Let's take the TOTY Landon Collins that's in the raffle right now as an example. The cheapest one goes for 643,000 coins on my AH. However, there are 100+ bids for this card already. If you have 1 MHC worth of bids, you'd have less than a 10% chance of winning the card. And remember, 10% of the card's value goes to EA so that's 578,700 coins for the winner.
But the expected value here is only 57,870 coins for 1 MHC because you only have a 10% chance of winning the raffle.
