Pathetic Customer Service

I know that EA is famous for its poor customer service, but I wanted to share an experience that is sadly common in its frustrating outcome.  During the SB, I was grinding the events to build Willie Brown without buying any shields (I had collectibles to turn into shields if necessary).  I was doing the set where you would trade 20 SB badges for a SB Legend collectible.  After I had saved up several collectible packs, I tried opening them, only to have the game crash with an unknown error and not receive the collectible whenever I tried to select a collectible.  

I called EA, who said the collectible should appear on my bench within 24 hours.  I tried opening two (one being a misclick) again later and got the same result.  I called EA after 24 hours and opened a collectible pack with a rep on the line.  He could see where I had one less unclaimed item but there was no record of the pack opening on the game log.  He escalated it to the development team.  Worried that it would not get resolved before the SB sets expired, I created a Twitter account and sent a DM to the EA Help account.
