OOP Evans or MF Gronk still viable?
I have them both. They both show up on film all the time. OoP Evans at CB2, and Gronk in the Nickel. I agree with an earlier post that you can't train height. It's definitely a big factor in the game from what I have experienced.
It’s the Honeymoon stage when you pick up a new player and he kills it then days later he disappears from film.

Tackle is what concerned me, but maybe the height makes up for it.

This ALWAYS happens when you add a player, EA has code for it, someone has the name, forgetting now but new players to your lineup play insane then drop off.

MF Gronk in game is a jerk. I forget about him all the time but then he intercepts me like crazy. The TOTY safeties only look good on paper but they are trash that my 97 TOTW Fournette can truck all day long.
For me I think Gronk is...but as for Evans, I don't but could just be where I have them positioned. I have Gronk at SS and Evans was my Dime. However, with the new players, I kind of valued the bonuses in the Nickle and Dime positions over what I valued Evans. The height is a huge factor with both of these which I think is why they are viable, just the other stats for Evans and no bonuses are the reasons I don't value him as high.
Let me tell you this: Every time I see Gronk, I target passing to his direction. Besides his height, he looks like he needs a map when he is coverage. Now, of I see Mike Evans, I tend to do the opposite: Don't throw in his direction unless I have Brandin Cooks and Evans is a 86.

Where are you positioning them at? I'm thinking of doing something similar except maybe keeping MF Ware also. Are you going to stick have Evans at CB1 and Gronk at SS. Also which secondary players do you think are best. I've got Bouye and Smith so far TOTY in the secondary.
For me, I'm doing full TOTY defense, with the exception of OOP Evans and Gronk. TOTY Rhodes/Hyde won't make the team. The only thing is that I would need to train Evans to max (107) to stay around the same OVR, and Gronk near max. Other than that they're definitely viable.
With the TOTY promo and the higher stats of those players, are either of these two still viable?
