My thoughts on the market....

A few things that I will project.

Many people are telling others to sell today, as prices will dip on all the new auctionable content.  And they are right...to a degree, for a VERY short time.

BUT, that is ONLY until the coin packs are introduced in game.  Once the coin packs are introduced, a great flood of coins will be introduced into the system, causing prices to skyrocket.  Remember, inflation happens because more currency is introduced into the game.  More disposable means=higher prices.

So at that time, you will be able to sell your cards for more.  The flipside is, cards will cost YOU more to BUY as well.  So TP costs will go higher up.

So, if you want to BUY today, that's fine.  Me personally? I'll play the waiting game, and SELL once the coin packs are introduced.  If you sell now, sure you'll have some coin, but waiting may get you some more coin than you get today, IF Scott the Bot allows us to.

People spend that much money for packs, most of which is garbage.  And many people have MC saved up.

With all of these changes, market is weird.

Nice discussion guys; good points for both sides. I'm playing the waiting game also....no need for me to rush buying or selling anything. I'm really curious as to what % of total users would actually buy the coin packs.....the exchange rate of MC (real cash) to coins is so much worse than "other sources" previously were.

Quote from Ailman >> The question is how many people are gonna buy the 500k coins, if you bought the legend bundle of Saturday you are essentially getting a good 400-800k coins depending on what you pull. I doubt many people will go for the coins when the right bundles offer you so much more value.

Very true...but you have to figure it's a gamble. Bundles and packs have the gambling aspect, buying coins you know exactly what you're getting and can buy what you want. I just have a sneaky feeling that there will be more people doing this than we can imagine.  And even though it's limited, if enough people buy 1 million coins the first day, and days thereafter, that's a fair amount of coins being generated into the economy.

I couldn't resist!! saw an auctionable OJ Howard and a Tj Watt today, I thought I could replace them with better players but I was wrong specially with Watt, I'm just glad he's back :D

People are forgetting that the packs are limited. The percent of players that will to buy coins is probably relatively low both due to price and the fact that we aren’t all rich. The majority of spenders like myself are ok dropping 5-20 bucks a month because we enjoy the game and would spend that on entertainment anyway, but $100 for some coins? I don’t think this game could ever offer me anything to justify $100. But there are those that can and will. There are some that would buy 1,000’s of those packs,  but they can’t. Only 2 of the big ones. So with limited demand overall and a small supply available to that demand, and I don’t see their coin selling causing any major long term effects.

People spend that much money for packs, most of which is garbage.  And many people have MC saved up.  Just in tourney rewards today most got 1000 MC, which is 100k coins. Maybe some of the MH power users won't do it, but there will be the masses who are constantly wondering "how to get coins" and then the whales, both of whom will buy en masse. It's a theory, not a guarantee, but with coins being introduced, that WILL cause SOME inflation.  How much, remains to be seen.

What's flawed is that the coin packs are 5000 MC for 500k coins.  It will increase the coin supply, but not at a super high rate.  Not sure how many people want to drop $100 for 1 million coins.  Also, you aren't realizing how much coins are being made just by live events.  Everyone does them daily and think it's just chump change, but it's actually quite a lot.  Multiply that by how many active members play madden mobile, and it is generating a lot of coins.

It's not like before with the coin sellers, who were generating coins by grinding out events with bots on thousands of accounts.  THAT super-inflated the coin supply.  With those coin sellers, you can get 200million coins for $100.  That's a huge difference.

Anyways, what you're talking about is price levels.  So, in your case it really wouldn't matter when to sell or buy cards because by ratio, they'll all be worth the same.

The reason people are saying sell your cards now, is because they are talking about being first to market.  If you sell before other people do, then people will see your card and buy it, but as more and more people are rushing to sell their cards, this will bring in competition which will bring the prices down.  So selling them now will net them more coins.
