EA really doesn't get it. Just look at this current promo.
Also doesn’t help that the ah is broken. No 100s In my ah unless it’s Ben Jones. At least in my ah. I wanted to go for pat Pete but without being able to sell the players I find it pointless now. At this point of the season a lot of people have maxed teams. They should have been more creative and at least offered more power grandmaster or something. I am all at 105 and really see no point in swapping one 105 for another with same stats and builds. Now if he was like moss and could become 400 power I would jump at trying to get him. I also agree with your post as well. Plus once you use all the geodes you can not progress in the promo. I don’t like that I spam the events and usually get no badges or shields. Currently have a crapload of keys that are useless. Wish you could exchange some for badges, geodes or shields.
I just played all the events and put stuff in sets with no clue how to build all the pieces. Claimed two 100s today. Need one more for Pat Pete but all my DBs are 105s......why can't we exchange 100s for TP?
The guys who say they like it and we only dislike the promo because it's not a simple as others before it... there is a no creation it.. it is simple... it's just time consuming and absolutely pointless.
If you have a maxed team and are only working on getting your power up now, this promo isn’t bad. However, if you’re actually trying to build these players, it’s terrible.
I didn’t need any of these players so I just used this for TP. Converting 4 geodes into one 80+ player is the cheapest way to get TP right now. If you open all the lockers you’ll get a ton of geodes. I pulled 43 80+ players just from converting geodes and it all went to TP.
Lastly, you can also just start stockpiling 80s, 85s, and 90s for the next promo, since we know for sure this is not the last one.
Just a note - use free shields etc to build vita and sell - much more tps from pro packs

I just got 270,000 tp from converting geodes into 80+ players. When I built Vita and sold him, I bought 92 pro packs and only got 240,000 TP. I've also always had horrible luck with pro packs though
Except Madden Futures ends when Ironclad,or whatever this promo is called,ends so these Futures players might not even have any relevance when it comes to the last promo.I'm hoping it's going to be Bosses and we can use any and everything we have on our bench to put into the sets.But time will tell I suppose.
KOTB was pretty simple
KOTB was great. That's what a end of the year promo should be. Grodiron is the opposite. There's 8 currencies.
I miss simple promos with packs and risky sets but the good fun days are behind us
Exchanging is bloody exhausting... Did spent about an hour on the train yesterday just trading in geodes...
I liked the creativity in this one. Yes when you clear the board you get a lot of geodes but I immediately trade them in
At this point, my team is built. I am fully maxxed and fully powered. I've been maxxed for about a month and fully powered for about a week. I'm not bothering with the gimmicky alter egos. What I'd like, and I may be in the minority, is to take this team that I've worked to build and play some actual competitive football against other people (which is what I've wanted all year, but esp now that there is nothing left to do team-building wise). What are my options? OD which only partially qualifies as "football". And 3 LvL drives per day.
That is my complaint, and that, at least from my perspective, is what EA doesn't get: that we want to use our teams competitively. But again, I understand that this may be just me and I am out of line using the plural pronoun. However, I'm certain that my issues with the specific competitive mode we're given (OD) is not just me, not even close.
As for the OP's point, yes, this promo is overly and unnecessarily complicated. But whatever. That's not going to make or break this game for me.

WORST PROMO OF 2020.
The keys to geodes to badge to banners to shields is pretty ridiculous this late in the season. It’s not that it’s complicated but hugely time wasting. I gotta sit there and exchange currency to get a currency which I then need to exchange for another currency and so on. It’s just annoying and unnecessary!
Same problem here, geodes were filling up my bench way too quick, so I stopped opening the Boom or Bust packs.
I wish EA would increase the item limit
I strongly believe they over-complicate things to induce frustration purchases. But I said that the other day and it was deleted for inappropriate content so I'm treading on thin ice saying it again lol

The funny thing is I'm using the 5x TP weekend to get to the same endpoint, I was gonna sell the master and rip Pro Packs. Now I'm just trading in the collectibles for players and spamming the events. A little less headache, I said the same thing last year. It's not an accident these promos are getting more confusing, a lot of players just spend cash instead of trying to figure it out. Or at least spend some cash on trying to get to a Grand Master because there were short for missing steps.
I was banned for a day for voicing frustrations (that a lot agreed with and upvoted). At least you only had a post deleted shrug
They are forcing us to spend our MC and they can't be bothered to put out a decent MC pack. I can't remember a time when 10K promo packs didn't come with a top prize promo player. 7.5K field pass packs have been awarding 98 ovr field pass players for months. 7.5K for a few max badges??? I imagine meetings of EA execs and developers where they are scratching their collective heads and wondering why they are losing players. Losing money. I am optimistic for next season but I have no reason to be.
I am definitely not Optimistic for this upcoming season. With all the previews its looks like the same thing with minor adjustments. I do like how they offered the $20 500MC for 60 days or whatever it is and they are basically shutting the game down 30 days earlier. Also Arena shutting down 2+ weeks early. I dunno the MC packs lately have really rubbed me the wrong way. Then looking at the upcoming season it looks like you will need to go back to school to get a Math degree. Yes most of the promos can eventually be worked around and figured out. It just takes a little bit. With OD now being tied into the promos (I hate that idea probably the most), schemes, power etc all back...I sit here and think Lip Stick on a pig?

At a time when many players are checked out, the Summer months before reset, most who still play welcome simple, fun promos. We don't mind promos, with a degree of difficulty. We just don't care for overly and unnecessarily complicated promos. We definitely don't care for promos with a million currencies. Enter Gridiron.... where you use promo currency to gain keys to unlock lucky lockers to obtain geodes, of which there are three kinds, to build iron badges, to build chrome banners, and to build titanium shields. This as well as all of the typical player requirements, 80+... 85+... 90+... to build 95s... 98s... to then finally build Masters. Maybe i'm alone in thinking this. Maybe it is wrong to speak for the entire community but this is utterly ridiculous. It's insanity. Even if you barely grind this promo the geodes fill up your bench quick. I can't even open packs without converting geodes into badges.
