Can't throw the ball vs Insta-throw
Which is more annoying?
Can't throw the ball, causes ints and sacks.. I'd say that is worse than losing a down... but both obviously suck.
Quote from Sulaiman23 >> There was a way to trigger a strip ball animation last year. Not this year. I need a way to choose to stiff arm or spin not a slot machine. I know what my RB needs to do so let me choose.
If they want to keep letting our inept teammates cause us to trip and fall then we need lead blocker control back where we can start a run play controlling the FB, OG or TE and make them pickup the right defender. Or do it like Madden 04 where you tell the blocker where to go while controlling the runner. Not sure how that would work without analog sticks. Maybe just tap the screen on the defender you want them to block. Or at the very least slow us to push the teammate that is in our way like in the NFL 2K games.

If I run into my WRs back I should push him aside or down automatically. Not just trip over his feet.
I have been straight up tackled by my own offensive teammates this year many times.
I do miss swiping up to truck or lay a big hit (usually before the ball got there ;) )
Quote from Jeepind >> Seriously, the graphics are awesome... but can my phone survive me watching in such detail the numbskull stuff my team does? 😉
Lol. I haven't heard the word numbskull since I was a kid. My father used to tell me "don't be a numbskull" all the time. Thanx for the nostalgia
Quote from Namtih21 >> Quote from Cyclone >> Horse Collar tackles were banned in 2006. Shows how old this engine really is.
What's really horrible about the engine is everyone pancakes my RBs. What RB in the NFL gets pancaked flat on his back every time he gets tackled. It's horrible
Two days ago I got RKO'd by a defender after making a catch in the middle.
This game engine is lousy, but it also has potential. The previous game engine, which also had problems, had reached its end.
I think EA has done a terrible job this year on almost all fronts, but I am willing to give them some leeway on the game engine; it is the first year for it, and it is improveable. Let's just hope they recognize the problems and can clean them up.
Quote from jada7373 >> Previous one wasn't any better. I'll take the improved graphics
Same the graphics are really nice. Love the camera modes too.
Quote from Dean >> I don’t think anyone wants this garbage
Lmao speak for yourself.
There are people in this thread who have literally said they like it.
I hate this engine. I’ve played since 2014 and I’d rather have 2016s engine. I couldn’t care less about the graphics, I care about my HB getting rundown by DTs, getting 2 yards past the goal line and being called short, my WRs getting PI’ed and super human cornerbacks and safeties who can run through myTEs and WRs and INT the ball an inch above the ground with 1 hand while “staying in bounds” because they really only get 1 foot in. That’s why I don’t want this engine. I like to throw the ball but the ridiculous AI on passes makes it nearly impossible to throw beyond 5 yards
Trying to throw is a joke. The gameplay is horrible and the "graphics improvement" is not worth ruining the gameplay.
Other than everything that was mentioned, I really hope the players start looking a little like the real players. I’m not sure why, BUT the players with long hair SHOULD have their hair! Oh my gawwwd does it bother me like crazy lol
Quote from Mchewy >> Gameplay has never been the strong suit of this game whether it be this engine or the previous one.
Maybe gameplay should be the most important aspect of this game. We have to learn to play against bad animation, bad gameplay and different gameplay for different modes.
Quote from Ailman >> Keep it, tripping over my own linemen in lvl and Overdrive is so fun :-x
BRUUUH... That's how we lose most of our matches. Can we really say we've lost ONLY because the other player/team was better? Quote from Abyss7 0811 >> I mentioned gameplay on a post the other day. So many players are complaining about the cosmetics of the game as if they don't see how bad the actual game is. How many times has your pulling guard pull, then runs backwards into the path of the ball carrier? How many times does the defensive AI react to the pass while your receiver makes no play on the ball? How often does your TE catch the ball in the open and instead of turning upfield, stops and squats, allowing the defense to tackle him for a 6 yard gain instead of the 20 yards he should've gotten? Lately, I'm watching my receivers get open, only to stop running the route as the ball gets there. There seems to be way too much bad coding in the game that shows a lack of actual football knowledge. Safeties covering 2 players 10-15 yards apart. DB's making 1-handed INT's with contact. Blockers running upfield mimicking the ball carrier instead of reacting to and engaging the oncoming tackler. Defenders moving at 2x the speed of the offense. Etc
Quote from cf2019GB >> ....Can’t throw the ball no matter how many times you tap the screen, mutant invisible grasshoppers tripping your 99 HB as he turns the corner....
99 ovr and 99 EVERYTHING though. 99 elusiveness, agility, truck any and everything else doesn't seem to matter much for rb's. Quote from GeeMack >>
Quote from Namtih21 >> Quote from nickt0905 >> Bad gameplay.
Perfect example of style over substance.
And the style, is it REALLY that great?
I mean, I don't know if this is still true, as I never changed my settings, but at the very beginning of this season, to save battery and prevent overheating of our phones (I have an iphone 8 plus), we had to drop graphics settings all the way down....so there went half of the supposed better graphics right there...
God no. I’m getting fed up with the illegal tackles, unaware receivers, and interfering, good for nothing oline.
Im also fed up with the Olympian DBs that jump up 4 feet on any ball thrown as my WR is still running down the field. Ooh, and the linebackers that my players can have 3ft of spacing on a crossing route and they turn on the nitro and get those long arms in there...
Graphics don’t mean shiat if the gameplay isn’t there
