They only gave you 3 options per play from your playbook, essentially being an “ask Madden” type with dynamic play calling based off of your coach. For example Doug Pederson is a risk taker while Jason Garrett is a bit more conservative.
EA removed plays that too many players were using. For example let’s say Cover 4 Drop Show 2 was being used by 90% of players over 50% of the time and EA removed it from playbooks to force us into trying to new plays out.
MUT was strictly a salary cap based mod but we were given the entire team portfolio of cards to our disposal to build our teams.
Every card came in limited supply. This would create more unique teams game to game rather than seeing almost the same team/players every game.
