I think most of us weren’t under the impression that play ball is for interceptions. If it’s the option between swat or pick with play ball on, it wouldn’t make sense for their to be a swat ball option. Ever since the patch with playball on, my guys have been doing diving swats that they miss giving up giant plays and sometimes my user pick animations I don’t catch I miss easy picks that their wr ends up getting. I feel like something definitely has been done to it recently. Going to play more on balance and see if I notice any difference.

MY adjustments are: Auto Flip: Off Play ball CB Matchups: By speed Option: balanced Pass Rush: Aggressive Strip Ball: Conservative Tackling: Balanced

See it's the opposite for me. Only player who consistently gets picks

I do "play ball" only when I really, really need the ball back. There is a higher chance that the receiver will catch the ball and my player will whiff on tackling him on this setting, but when I have to take the risk, I take the risk. Otherwise, I play on "balanced."
I used to always do play ball aggressive but it's def been nerfed somewhat. I'll have players enter a pick animation while the WR is catching the ball. Like they're going for a pick where the ball would be, but the WR is in front of them and catches it. They were literally playing only the ball, not the man in front of them
I still run it anyway online, along with tackle and strip. It's confusing nobody really knows how they work with players having traits and everything.
Just wondering what is the best setting you guys have came across for defense. I always have had it on playball, but I dont feel like it actually does anything. I have had several times where a person makes a bad read throwing it directly at my guy and they cpu swats it before i have a chance to click on, Cpu swats picks that im going for on another player and other random things. I have seen cpu look like they are trying to jump a pass for a swat(and miss giving person free yardage) so maybe this is what the play ball does.
I've tried play receiver and it didnt seem to do anything, but play swat i've seen a few wild swat animations happen in pick situations.
