All free (with coin proceeds from solo battles/solos) and perform at a world-class level.
AB Ricky Williams and Sequen Barkley all ball on my team and they were all "free"
It does seem like that to me, but I played a guy with Saquon Barkley last night and he controlled him so well, I thought I was playing against Sanders, lol.
So I guess some of it still depends on skill and how well the guy fits with your team.
Aside from the fact the game nerfs your stats due to situations.
