How do you stop inside zone runs?
Word of advice. Showing blitz or pressing ur cbs will help stop the run but if u do that I’m audibljng to play action and ur probably gonna get beat deep. So I wouldn’t press or show blitz
Assuming ur talking about plays out of shotgun. Shift line to side opposite rb( side run will go to). Then slant them in that direction. Shoot gap with user. I run a lot of inside zone and I find it toughest to run when they r in 3-4 defense. If ur in nickel or dime no matter what adjustments r made I will usually pick up solid gains. I’d ur in 3-4 blitz the middle lb towards the side back is goin. If ur in 4-3. Blitz the olb to that side and user the gap. Very tough to stop inside zone from nickel or dime
I get killed on these runs. I'll pinch, and slant in the direction they are running but nothing works...unless I blitz of course. When I try to run this play though I always get stuffed, and my opponent will be in cover 3. How are they stopping it?
