Cloud Flat Man Coverage...Both Clouds Turn to Man?
I played a guy today that only ran formations with three wide receivers and the halfback on the heavy side. Im not sure what playbook he was using but there were some crazy route combos with the both outside receivers running corners and C routes. Then when I would change coverages there were route combos off of some deep posts and hooks that would be open. Anyways...
My question is it appeared as though both cloud flats turned into man coverage and I was under the impression it was only on the side of the lone WR. Is it both sides? He was also motioning his outside WR on the heavy side a couple steps towards the middle before he would snap the ball.
I was attempting to user the lone WR and he started going to the heavy WR side and the routes cloud flats usually cover were still wide open. I ultimately found success bringing pressure out of cover 3 and usering one side while leaving a DB to help with the outside routes.
