I think they have it that why to prevent people from throwing Into double coverage. Most receivers at this point in the year have like mid or high 90’s catching so let’s say defensive and offensive players have the same chance to catch the tipped ball the receiver would catch it each time because his catching stat is much higher than DB’s and linebackers, so they make it harder for receivers to catch tipped balls because 1. You shouldn’t throw into double coverage and 2. Their catch stats are much higher as it is. In real football the receiver is more likely to come up with a tipped ball but if that was the case in madden it would be crazy.
I can't tell you how many times my WRs try to catch tipped balls and drop them while everyone on D, regardless of them having T chem or not, can catch a tipped ball. I actually had a receiver last night get 3 chances at a tipped ball and couldn't come down with it. Tip drill does nothing for a defensive player, it'd be cool if they switched that to offense next year.
