Who all Hates the 10% Auction House Tax & thinks it should be reduced to 5% or removed completely??

As you know the 10% Auction house tax has been around since the beginning of Madden Ultimate Team

I've been a firm believer that it should be reduced In half to 5% or removed completely.

I never understood the need for this & really feel it's ruining the ultimate team experience..

It's bad enough trying to make coin or even buy stuff & I believe the removal or reduction of the tax % would help decrease the Acution House inflated prices & actually help people to have a little extra coin as well..

Especially since EA refuses to keep up with enough solos to be able to earn coin..

The 79k coin solo that's more like it we need more high coin high rewarding solos keep people interested

Not having stuff like Journey 2, Among other cancled solo expansions like final edtions Campus heros 4th of july among countless other old promos & stuff should be brought back..

Load us up with content & ways to earn decent amount of coins & packs & remove or reduce the tax and it should solve the inflated Auction House prices

I agree that the tax is necessary but it should be in line with EA's other sports titles, FIFA runs at 5% on sales so why not Madden...

I'll give you guys a few. I'm not quite sure where OP is coming from in that removing the 10% fee would decrease inflation. I could be wrong on this, but I have to imagine the 10% auction house fee is the number 1 coin sink in the game. I'm sure more coins leave the economy due to the 10% fee than all coin pack sales combined. Even if that's not the case, the 10% fee removes a massive amount of coins from circulation each year. How would putting those back in the economy do anything but increases prices across the board? Auction house power users would still benefit by removing the 10% fee even factoring in the increased prices, but the barrier to entry for newer players would be raised.

I, for one, like the 10% transaction surcharge fee for any Item sold that was acquired via:

A random purchase A trade Or an item that has been purchased within the last 48 to 72 hrs. Items that should be excluded from the 10% price tax:

Items acquired from completing a set Items acquired from opening packs that were: Rewarded, Purchased, or have been Specially Earned. Or any Item that was successfully won through an auction house bid war..... After 24 hrs. of the auction sale.... And thats my Opinion!!!!

The_Matural

Original card seller should not be taxed on first sale, also if you buy a card it can’t be auctioned for a certain amount of time, Maybe 24 hours.  Just a few things I would do

The tax can be a hindrance, but it does have its place.  To Rocketz point that AH Tax is the #1 coin sink in the game, I might argue it is some of the Sets.  Some of the Sets will get you a major loss and consume a lot of valuable binder items, but people are compelled to do them to get to the new top of the line cards.  If they gave you a partial refund for items you plug into the Sets (back like the M25 days) that would really help players feel like the value of their collection doesn't disappear so fast - which is the real problem more than the coin total itself.

I’m sorry, because I know I can’t sway your opinion but, tax is completely necessary and I’m happy to have it in game, without it people would undercut each other by 100 coins everytime. It’s one of the only things I think they have down right.

I see no issue with the tax.  The ability to be able to generate coins by working the auction house is a part of the fun of MUT for me.  Some may think it's boring and I agree that it's not for everyone  Madden 18 didn't have as many solos as I would've liked and the content was very stale for the most part.  For MUT19, don't remove the tax and add more solos/promos.

It's like with the calling for greater pack odds .... people will focus on "How does this benefit me?" without thinking about the fact that the same benefit is applied to everyone else as well and end up mostly cancelling each other out.

Tax. Basic Economics. Inflation. Etc. I used to think it was horrible....when I was like 16 I still don't like it but its unfortunately necessary. I'd like a 5% tax or even a dynamic tax such as the NHL ultimate team.

I hate taxes specially on very exspensive cards like GTs  losing 100k on 1 mil OOF

rato

tax rate is there so ppl with more than one account cannot manipulate the market as easy. (ex you can buy your own card with your other account and if you keep doing it it looks like high demand and price goes up etc

mlane43701

I wish they would allow users to list more cards on the AH.  When you have 1000+ items in your inventory and can only list 20 items it is frustrating.

Taxation is theft!

Quote from MaddenNFLFan1984 >> Quote from barrofsoap >> perfectly fine with the auction house tax. OP's comment about not being to make coins is total BS, I've made 15mil plus this season not spending a dime on this game. That doesn't mean I sat on the AH all day either, just gotta play smart during promos and you can make nice bank.

Quote from aliaslloyd >> The tax is fine and necessary but I do think there shouldn't be any tax on the first sale of an item. The would give a little incentive to complete sets or buy packs.

This sounds like a great idea of the card was bought in the AH then tax it 10% and if it was  traded tax it 25% they already keep track of how the card was obtained so they could program it fairly easily

Elswick37

I've made plenty on the AH with the way it is now. I don't mind it. makes me think twice before I buy/sell
