A question for 4-3 players...

How much playing time does your LOLB get? That Super Bowl Hendricks looks great, especially with the ST chem but then I realized I run a lot of nickel. I also thought about Ware as well but I have 93 Brooks up to 91 zcv with r&r while I user toty Wagner. I'm struggling with the choice ahead for my SB NAT!

Falcons playbook has the preset packages/subs where your lolb slides to LE in nickel, dime, and dollar. Your LE slides to DT 2 and the DT2 doesnt play for nickel and dime. Its pretty freakin sweet if you ask me. Im personally not using it right now as i have OOP bo jackson and lolb but i had that MLB lawrence taylor as my lolb for a few weeks and he was awesome using this playbook.

He’s out of chem completely for me but the dude is the only one without major flaws and I can see myself having him for a LONG time. Have to think your going to be replacing either one of those linebackers in the very near future if they would even start for your team right now. The WR seems nice but also have to think if this card is nat do you see yourself using him in a month? I know I would rather have WRS with guys I know and like and they will release faster guys more frequently now. The CB isn’t physical enough for this run heavy game. I could see going with Larry little at LG. no complaints there. Qb is fine if trigger happy doesn’t bother you. Terrell Davis is complete BUNS. Rodney Harrison looks good if you don’t mind a couple of dropped interceptions and inferior animations with catching on a saftey who’s going to get lots of balls thrown at him. I think that about sums it up on how I decided to take the FB. LOL

Considering my top 3 CB's are NTL, Bo, and T5 Champ while my LB trio is TOTY David, TOTY NAT Wags, and Brooks at LOLB I'm almost always in 4-6 normal. If I'm really concerned about them getting deep on me I'll just drop my SS  (Lott) back with 4-3 normal. My LB's are good enough in coverage (tier 4 R+R and Motivator Mathieu, all 91+ zone) that I don't see an advantage bringing Champ in but I do get a noticeable deficiency defending the run.

Like someone else said if you grab him play him OOP at DE. I don't think there's a negative to playing guys OOP other than losing the chem. Which I think if you can play a guy in the position you should get the chem for it. Or atleast remove side designations and make it DE/OLB. You can get around it though by starting players for chem purposes and subbing in who you want to actually play. I'm currently doing this with Ware/Von at DE's after I got Ware today.

Thanks to NAT Mack my personnel issues at LOLB is solved, but getting him on the field isn’t. Not my personal choice, but I’m not complaining.

I use base a ton so my lols is on the field. But I’d sub ware or whoever else you want in at end and bump your end to DT

If you run a 4-3 and choose Hendricks and you run a lot of nickel your gonna wanna play him Oop at de, chemmed up he hits 99 bks and has height, he’s gonna be a monster at De. For 4-3 LB he’s gonn be a little on the slow end and poor in coverage but if you want him to set the edge in run game he’s great. Gotta be a little creative with substitutions to maximize his value

vedoidoid7

I'm 90% 4-3 Base, so yeah, my LOLB gets a lot of game time. Wasn't interested in the SB LBs either. Ended up going for Larry.

Caallmegod9

I user my LOLB, so a lot of the time. I'm either in the 4-3 or the dime. Hendricks is probably not the move in a 4-3 though.

I actually user the LOLB (Barr), so mine plays all of the time, and I use the new Ware as the blitzer/pass rusher and let the MLB roam.  Many ways to attack, I also played for a while with Von MIller at ROLB to rush, didn’t any drop off at all playing him OOP.

I noticed in your salary cap lineup you got Kawann at DT1 and Star at DT2 and I think I see the answer to my nickel questions based on your LOLB, haha...but in any case, I thought the DT1 in a 4-3 in Madden lined up as the nose and gets double teamed...do I have that backwards? I would want Kawann in 1 on 1s in pass rush and Star taking up blocks, for example. Thanks!

I think this may be right, in my normal lineup I have Aaron Donald at DT1 but when I user pass rush I realign to get him 1 on 1 with the RG. I would switch him but I've gotten so used to the mechanics of taking on the RG.

I spend most of my time in base personnell, so a lot.  I have Lavonte and Von Miller on the outside.  When Von isn't blitzing, I'm usering him.   Been mostly using 3-4 OLB's all year in 4-3.  They do fine.  Charles Haley 91 legend is stll a good card, even now.

I'd actually like to run more nickel normal, but I haven't figured out any blitzes from it.

ochooz88

i run a 43 but i usually use a nickel formation so the lolb barely sees the field

GolfWang1600

In for answers too...is the default in madden to sub out LOLB for ANY Nickel formation? If offense flips does ROLB go out instead, for example or does the ROLB just follow the strongside? I haven't actually looked for this tbh as I mainly play 3-4.

I noticed in franchise mode that the LOLB always had low tackles over the course of a season presumably because of this, but most was simulated.

GameAce92

Honestly,Ware and Hendricks aren't the best choices for a 43. I use 46 and 43 a lot and only nickel if absolutely necessary, since people are so run oriented nowadays. Brooks is incredible, keep him!
