The reason you're on track to hit 40 downvotes is that you said a promo where we got 4 +1's, one upgrade for a current player, and 3 cards based on things that didn't even happen this year, one of which is LTD and will be exorbitantly priced, is "twice as good." Also, all the +1s were to guys that should already have elites. The fact Josh Allen still has a gold card is fucking depressing. Oh and also, I'm a pats fan, and I didn't think Gilmore deserved a +1, but since JC Jackson is a gold card, they had to give it to Gilmore.

So basically they get to charge us for a plus one that won’t scratch whatever leg is at the position . Are they stupid? Raising the overalls 1 point and picking guys fans like is all we ever asked for. Like who tf wanted a Brendan Scarlett except for 2 Texans fans.... Make it Arod, Russ, Minkah, Julio, Walker, Kittle, etc 2 a week and we are all love. If you had them slated for harvest or whatever get over it and change the harvest master you lazy sacks.
Best part of this thread is the dude started it when Kraelo was still introducing the promo. Dude, didn't EA tell you to post this AFTER the program actually came out? No free packs for you.

Amen. Don't see anyone saying much now, which I kinda figured. Not perfect, but definitely better than the past. Content was slow but now it's starting to heat up!
As long as bam bam is one of these past legends cards then I will accept this promo but still not a huge fan so far
More past favorite players are always good to me

They set the upgrades to only existing PU, capped them at a +1 overall, took away any upgrades for theme teams and gave you one extra 89. Wheres the positive. I’d like to hear it in sincerity.
This is a horrible setup for theme teams. Just diluting current depth players and focusing on getting big $ spenders to buy packs and training.
What you're missing is how these cards and collectibles are being used for the team affinity sets, that are specifically made for theme teams. Once those launch, the theme teams will get some love. It all has to work together, that was my concern as well since I run a theme team with very little upgrades so far this year.
I get that this is the pitch but all that means is very limited content until some point in the middle of series 2. Getting gold players up to elite is massive due to chems.
This also seems like a repeat of last year where MUT team picks winners and losers with who gets a power up and who doesn’t.
I can see that it's not an instant gratification thing, but think about the potential for theme teams to also get one of the heros for that week as well. This opens up top end cards for teams each week. Trust me, I'm a 50/50 colts chem and haven't seen a significant upgrade in WEEKS, however, this opens up a lot of chances. It's a middle ground between getting viable players for top teams and still helping out theme teams in the process.
Wasn't there already the potential for Theme Teams to get a card? Plus until I see FB or Vets this is just EA doing less. There were already 2 heros plus limited last year.
Sure, that's my point. Plus the cards now are higher rated. BTW, heavyweights coming in today, so EA is actually sticking to a plan, which is surprising. Lets see if it lasts.
All valid points. But with only 3 new cards per week (I don’t count power up expansions) what are the odds that teams other than the traditional developer juices (Seahawks, Raiders, 49ers, Steelers) get anything meaningful more than a few times this entire season?
I get that, and thats a risk, especially with EAs track record lol. However I'm also hopeful this Wildcard Wednesday thing brings back the heavyweights, flashbacks, campus heros, veterans, etc. That would add another opportunity to get cards. At the end of the day, I want as many pieces to add to my theme team as possible. I do think that it's going to hurt lower cards, elites included, from getting large jumps. Take Kerrigan or Jacobs for example. Lower elite cards that could have been 86+ but only get a +1 that costs training. That kinda sucks, but I'm open to seeing how it plays out. It very well could bomb with poor execution, and I may be crazy to be giving EA any chance to prove it to me lol.
It's horrible. Only cards with power ups can get Totw. They never release new power ups. They said they did away with lower overalls because they were only good for theme teams, then in the next breathe said they realize everyones doing theme teams so they introduced team affinity. They found a way to get rid of flashbacks and do less work with totw, all while making it as confusing as possible by making 78 overall Totw cards that have absolutely no value to the power up. Such a mess. If they put efforts into giving us what we want instead of making things as confusing and useless as possible, we wouldn't need threads like this.
Did you miss wildcard wednesdays? Very possible they bring out new powerups, and they said they will be using those for some of the "older programs" aka Heavyweights, veterans, flashbacks, etc. 5 new cards this week they said.
