Threshold question

So let me get this straight. Any rating over the threshold number doesnt make your player play any better? So a 90 short or deep route running rating is the exact same as a 95 or even 99? Or a 89 rating is the same as a 80 or 85? I would really, really hope not considering we all pretty much pay for the ratings on players. We know speed increases by each number and i think every rating should be like that a small increase as the rating goes up higher. I wish they would revamp their rating system and be more transparent with how the ratings work.

Gutfoxx did a vid on this you can lookup. "Threshold" is the wrong word for this, even though everyone uses it. A better term would be "peak efficiency". Higher ratings increase the chances of something happening. (Higher the hit power on a defender, the better odds of forcing a fumble. Higher spectacular catch rating, better odds of getting those animations etc.)
