I think i figured out whats wrong with companion app
The ps5 sign is is the same as ps4 for me. My problem is it's pulling up a persona for me that I haven't used on madden in like 6 years

You need to sign into your ps5 or xbox x account on the app rather than your ps4 or xbox one if you're using next gen. I tried that and its working fine so far now.
