I suggest using run stopping abilities such as inside stuff or if you user lineman, (not recommended) Run Stopper. I had Inside Stuff on J.J. Watt and Frank Clark against a full o-line with abilities and they stopped the run just fine
LOL. I had run stuff on all 4 defensive lineman to test it out and I was still gashed for a bunch of yards with run stuff chem as well. Alvin Kamara even trucked Keanu Neal. Fun game lol
nah im not putting Inside Stuff on anyone, DTs blow up their opponent and then blast past the HB leaving a gaping hole
I just use the D-line man. I was never a huge fan of lurking, and, well, it works out really well
Whenever someone is predictably running the ball a potent D that I run is the cover 4 show 2 out of the 3-4 odd then base align and press (essential) and and coverage adjust outside and user one of the safeties to crash to the HB. Worth giving a shot, see if it works for you as well. Not 100% foolproof but extremely effective compared to various blitz plays and other coverages I've tried with adjustments.
this, but with most 4-3, 3-4 forms with 2 deep safeties. 99% of the time the mindless toters will run to the wide side of the field. User the weak safety and pursue with him.
Not a single run defense I used last year works. No matter the formation/personnel I come out with seems to make a lasting difference. You either stop anything or get toted on all game no matter the stats of the players or abilities - at least that has been my experience this year. My OLBs and D-Line must be at an avg of 98 overall and every other game they all get pushed around like a bunch of HS kids. Whenever it happens I cycle through 4-6 Bear, 3-4 Odd, 4-3 Even (6-1) and Big Nickel with different setups and sometimes even spying my safeties and it does jack sh*t.
