New to MUT, feels like team has hit a wall. Any advice?

to upgrade players you need their power up card. this can be powered up with training points and player cards that belongs to it.
- Sell the higher gold cards on the AH - just look at what they are selling for put the lower OVR's into exchange sets to get higher gold cards
- You get the power up cards and put the "elite" red cards into their power ups to unlock abilities for players, if you have an example I can show you what the PU will do for it
- Play the challenges that are quick - not the campaign ones I'd spend time with the ones that give you NCAT players like TOTW for a free 90 NCAT and then use the rest of the time on the other challenges that reward you with a higher OVR NCAT player
- You find them on the Auction House - just search "Alex Mack" and you will see all of his items that are available, you start with the power up purple card and add things in as the levels go up
Thanks for the reply. Glad to know I can skip the campaign because it absolutely sucks. I will focus on the daily/weekly events that EA adds from time to time.
Unfortunately I can't check my cards because the MUT server is down but I'll take a look at my Russ Wilson card (87 OVR, has Visualizer ability I think, and it's red) and tell you exactly what it is. Thanks again.

He has only 2 cards an 85 and an 89 superstar card. There is no ability called "Visualizer".

Yup I am almost certain that second image is the card I have - The red Core Elite card. It must be the 85 OVR. If I'm right, that means this card is maxed out, correct? Can't upgrade it further? I got it as a reward so didn't upgrade it myself.
And I dunno what ability I am thinking of. Maybe conductor? Whatever it was, it isn't gunslinger.
Either way you gave me the biggest keys - how to grind for better players and what to do with unwanted cards. Thanks again, this is a big help.
if it's the core elite card - you can use TP to unlock ability slots but it's capped at 85 - add it to the PU to get more : no problem! have fun man!
Greetings fellas. This is my first post here.
I have played madden here and there over the years but never got into MUT until just now. I think I have a limited grasp of it, but need help getting my team over the hump.
Currently my team is 83 OVR. I had some extra dough lying around so I bought a couple bundles, and have a handful of decent players. But I'm not sure what to do next. I know with my current team, I will never be competitive.
What's the best thing to do with cards I don't want / will never use? I have a bunch of golds, a few duplicates (bought a TOTW pack and got 3 Sony Michel 83 OVR cards). Should I just quick sell them for training? Put em in sets? Auction them off?
There are some cards I cannot upgrade. The option isn't there. I feel like these cards are mostly red, but there are plenty others I can't upgrade aside from adding abilities or superstar status. But many abilities require your player to be >90 or >93 OVR. How do you get the players to those levels? (Please don't tell me I have to rip packs and pray for Boomer Esiason!)
What's the best way to grind/get better players or items? I read about something called "gauntlet" but I don't see that. The campaign takes FOREVER and the rewards I'm getting along the way are not very useful. Should I be doing the other missions like Harvest, Campus Heroes, etc?
Some player cards require particular items to upgrade. e.g., I have Alex Mack as my C, and apparently you can only upgrade him if I get Alex Mack upgrade items. Where do you even find those?
Sorry for the amateur questions. I have looked around for FAQs, beginner guides but would rather ask you guys as opposed to watching some 16 year old on YouTube for a half hour. Thanks in advance!
