New to the TT game. EDIT*
Renfro has been an absolute dog for me. He picks almost everything thrown his way. I use him mainly as a deep blue, and he's been mossed maybe three or four times by taller guys with deep in or out elite and maybe some red zone threats. He gets a pick probably every other game if not more.
You have him as your CB1?
I do. I run pick artist on my deep safety (mays) and my outside corners (renfro and walls) and turn off auto flip so mays is always the deep safety. Acro on deion (not really a fan of his tbh) simmons and kam plus enforcer which is 1 ap in his last slot. Kam and parsons at sublb with parsons as my main user with lurker. He's insane he probably has the most ints on my team. Two 1 ap inside stuffs (93 brandon williams and 95 wilfork). Seems to work pretty well for me. I feel like it's a very good defense to run with because of how many of the cards go on the tt.
I was in the same boat just before the XMAS promo... I never ran a TT in 6 years of MUT because I did not think theme teams could compete with full god squads. But I was getting bored with the game and decided to dip my toe in. I started off 25 Cowboys/25 Raiders but someone here said I should go full 50 Cowboys and man they were right. The +2 SPD is incredible on cards that benefit the most from speed (namely WRs and CBs) and with the right strat cards, there's not a God Squad out there that my team can't compete with on paper or on the field. I'm 95 OVR (94 OFF/95 DEF)... and was able to maintain 50/50 while flexing with best in class cards at the weak spots for Dallas (OLine, HB, TE, MLB, and DT).
As for Renfro... I play him in the slot where he should be. My outside CBs are Walls and Pat Peterson... and I can say they never get Mosses. I have abandoned Acrobat in favor of Pick Artist in my secondary and get tons of picks now. You will never convince me that Acrobat is better than Pick Artist.
Agreeeeeed. It gives you something to look forward too promo wise too. Or be disappointed lol. Are you on current gen?
I just sold off my entire cowboys TT and I had pick artist on Renfro and average a pick a game with him. I think out of 10 games he got mossed maybe twice if that.
Yeah I grabbed Sherman. I had him before and really like his height as a cb1. It didn’t help Renfro got agg’d in big game moments haha
Renfro gets agg’d even with acrobat. Could try stacking acro and pick artist. If not, put Humphrey in the SLCB spot and run it that way
I never used Renfro cause of his archetype but you can get M. Lynch who get all TT and FB chem. Than maybe try a different CB with out losing the TT boost?
Never ran a TT before always went with the god squads. Decided to run a 30 Cowboys 25 Packers TT.
What y’all think? Made some edits. Renfro wasn’t working for me at CB1. Who do you think we can expect for playoff promo?
