Why all the threads on DDA lately? Here's to all the DDA-deniers out there...
First a little background. I've played MUT pretty much all year 'round since Madden 16. I'd say I'm probably a bit above average as a player compared to the typical MUT-header... certainly not great. I'm currently in Legends Tier in Seasons and will bounce between that and MVP throughout the year. When I do play WL, I'll average 17 wins... usually I'm in the 16-18 range. My highest was 19 and my worst in 25 full games was 15 over the past few years. I do not run anything meta on offense or defense. But I do spend a lot of time learning the meta and how to best stop it or attack it. I've played many thousands of H2H games over the years.
I generally don't believe in conspiracy theories. I have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and I'm a firm believer in critical thinking. People here often say... "I don't believe in DDA because you can't prove it is in the coding. These individuals are not thinking rationally. One merely needs to rely on the power of observation. I'll draw an analogy... I don't need DNA evidence to prove that the birds I see at the park are ducks. They look like ducks... they walk and swim like ducks... they quack like ducks... so most rational human beings would conclude that they're ducks. The same goes with MUT H2H games. If you see that in some games, your KR is running more slowly or feels faster than normal... or that your OLine blocks much better or worse or easily pushes the defense back a couple yards off the ball versus no push at all... or your DLine sheds like LT on crack versus no shedding at all... or your Man2Man DBs stick to their receiver like glue in some games yet give up lots of separation in others... you don't need any further proof to know that there are some shenanigans' afoot behind the scenes.
Furthermore, one only needs to observe EA as a company and how they treat their paying customers... and then ask these questions:
Do they have the capability to implement DDA into their games (including MUT H2H): The patents and publications would confirm they do. Do they have a financial motivation to include DDA in their games (including MUT H2H): The patents, publications, and shareholder reports all confirm this to be positive. DDA is designed to maximizer player engagement which has a direct correlation to profitability. Do they have any incentive to be transparent about including DDA in their games (including MUT H2H): The answer is clearly no because when players find out about this somewhat underhanded practice, they feel like they are being taken advantage of and may quit playing.
Based on the above... you should be asking this question: Why wouldn't they include DDA in all of their games?
At this point, I firmly believe that DDA is present in MUT H2H games. I also believe that anyone who denies the existence of DDA in MUT H2H games falls into one or more of these categories:
a) they have not played the game enough to get a feel for when the coding or sliders are against you or on your side. b) they are a shill for EA. c) they are just trolling to get responses on a controversial topic. d) they just aren't all that good at the game and want to believe all of their wins are exclusively based on their skill.
All that said... it's best not to care too much about DDA. I will be the first to admit that it seems fairly well balanced... meaning I've benefitted just as much as I've suffered at the hands of that fickle coding. You win some, you lose some... and at the end of the day, it's pretty much a wash. For those that have gotten this far... I'll await the standard response that I should just "git good".
