Rookie premiere prep

I know the draft is a couple months away but with MLB 19 coming out in a month it's getting close to the time I'll be moving on from this year's MUT. I didn't leave myself any coins to come back and get any of the rookie premieres last year and I see that a few of them were pretty useful this year so I'd like to leave myself with enough coins to pick up some for next year. How much should I make sure to save up so that I can afford some of the better rookie premieres?

Unless they announce upgrades to RP's I'm out this time around. Looking at my roster I have Vander Esch starting at OLB and Barkley returning kicks. That's it. I had EVERY RP this year, they got better boosts than ever, and 99% are still on the bench. Why?

These factors REALLY undermine the RP program for me:

Chem Handicapped. Can't add red chems, other chems are less than their normal card. PU Banned: Can't use in PU's. QS Frozen: Can't even QS the cards at some basic rate like LTD's or even just dump them from your binder. Collection Banned: Can't use them in collections. AH Banned: Cannot sell on AH. Just too many restrictions for me. And frankly, with the theme team factors this year, you would think my Chargers could at least use RP Derwin James, but no, because of chem restrictions, the snow promo James I pulled chems up higher and is much more effective, so that's the James card I'm using.

500k to 750k per depending how patent one was. As it got closer to the end of doing them all I remember caring less about the cost per 😂

The packs with the pieces sold for 40k and coincidentally, that about the pieces went for in the AH. You needed 20 pieces for an RP. That comes to 800k each. There solos that gave 1 free if you were legendary for Madden rewards and PU trade ins to help ease the coin burden

500k per is a safe number (3-4 million total); plus the free one or two you may get from solos and objectives.  I'm starting to look at this also OP.

im bout to check out of MUT pretty soon too.. leaving myself around 4 mil coins. I think thats a safe bet.

Sounds good. Coins seem to be easier to come by this year (at least for me) so I wouldn't be surprised if they come in on the higher range of these estimates but this is useful information thank you

It was EA's way of saying the PU program as it stood was garbage and really gave us a discount on making them. There was a limit how many PU's we could use, but if you had enough cards to met those limits, then to make all 10 was about that 500k each.

The year before {M17} it was about a million per player. You got 1 for free from the solos, but the rest you had to buy the promo cards.

Yeah I wanna say it was about 500k per also

I did all 10 last year.  Don't remember quite how it worked, but I wrote down that I bought 170 packs at 40k each (for a total of 6.8 million coins) to get all the set pieces.  I pulled a 99 LTD Lane Johnson on pack 40, and a 99 LTD Lavonte David on pack 48.  Pulls I could have sold if I needed more coins to finish.

I'd say a minimum of 500k per RP, but I could be off.

didnt you get them from power ups last year?

A few million at least they won’t be cheap
