Can someone explain this please

Ok if Tyreek hill or any player that has 99 speed and he’s on a streak or a deep post ( whatever) and he’s in front and soon as you hit the pass to him the cb who has 96 or 97 speed is behind a yard or 2 or maybe even 3 then suddenly gets a speed burst then proceeds to get in front of your 99 speed Supposedly player for a pick 🤦‍♂️

Then what the heck speed is the defender 🤷‍♂️ 100 plus ?? How does he get in front of a player that has 99 speed 🤣🤣🤣.

I think the pursuit coding messes this up... that attribute seems to override speed during those last few yards

Fatigue? Back in the day...the 49ers had a WR who was an Olympic sprinter. I don't recall his name, but I do recall...he wasn't just running away from from folks. I get your points about the numbers and in your example of Hill...well he is not just a sprinter...his card represents a refined NFL WR with amazing speed, but even Hill does not just run past everyone all the time. In MUT as you well know...it is what it is.

Another note besides my point below, running with your arms extended or looking up in the air is naturally going to cause you to slow down as opposed to the defender who is just running full steam towards you only looking up at the last second, if at all.

A pass is rarely thrown to a receiver perfectly in stride which means the receiver has to slow down slightly and pin point the trajectory of the ball's estimated landing spot allowing the defender to catch up. You know, like what you see in real life every weekend during the season.

I highly doubt EA incorporated those methods but you got a point
