The leaderboards provided in game are not ELO based. It’s basically a win counter with very little penalty for poor win %, poor point differential, poor strength of opposition, or any other metric indicative of a good/bad player. The #1 person could be far worse than the #99 and both could be far worse than someone not even on there at all. It means nothing besides who sits around and plays nothing but Madden all day every day.
I'm sorry for your loss. I think 50/50 leaves too many holes at this time of year.

I was in my divisional game need one more win to go to the Super Bowl was matched up with the #8 rank guy in h2h. Dude had the cheesiest plays bunch offset lmao and 335 wide smh…. I knew if I would have beaten him I would have won my superbowl. EA had to roll me up against the #8 guy.
I want a rematch next time I’m playing with my ultimate team. 50/50 Steelers couldn’t match up with his god squad. He had everybody.
