Gambling on EA SPORTS - It's in the game! That is strange that they are talking: it is not a game of chance. That is obvious to me.
Now don’t get me wrong I love to gamble heck I do every week in football season and almost every day when it’s baseball
But the fact that EA Madden team says that in no way this is gambling because there’s no monetary value to me is a lot a horse manure This scouts stuff to me was the worst when it comes to gambling because they never told you that there’s more stuff to come so save your scouts so u just used up what u had because u did not want bad training percentages from the leftovers then they don’t even put the percentage rate of the pulls it’s just 80 + and don’t get me started on the re rolls to example .....who did 20 solos just to plug in “ 900” scouts offer only to find big waste of time This is gambling at it finest how can they deny it ?
Everything from the rng packs odds to the card-opening animations are directly from slot machines.
When they stop charging $100 hard real currency for a bundle, then we can discuss "it's not gambling". Because it very much is.
I'd say MUT has always been "normal-key" gambling. I don't mean that negatively or positively. It is what it is. There wouldn't be much on the AH if we didn't have sharks buying tons of MUT bundles, for the chance of hitting big cards.
As for monetary value. I used to play a lot of MMORPGs. World of Warcraft, Everquest, etc...Way back in high school, I made a few thousand selling Everquest items until Sony banned the practice. There are also MMORPGs like Second Life where buying/selling virtual goods is expected. People have somehow made millions off of games like that. Buying and selling virtual real estate, etc...
I'm not breaking any of Madden's rules, but I do know that plenty of people assign real world value to virtual items. Regardless of arguments that developers try to make.
This applies on FIFA not Madden, but the concept is the same.
"EA has announced plans to stop selling FIFA Points in Belgium following government pressure over loot boxes. In FIFA Ultimate Team, you can spend real world money on FIFA Points, which can then be used to buy card packs. In September 2018, the Belgian government, which had declared loot boxes to be a form of gambling because players don't know exactly which items a box may contain when buying one, launched a criminal investigation into EA after the publisher refused to modify FIFA's randomised card pack loot boxes in order to comply with the country's gambling laws. ... Link?
Quote from Dreverse >> they never told you that there’s more stuff to come so save your scouts
They did in fact not say explicitly there will be more stuff, but they said scouts will be used the whole offseason.
