I’ve never liked that the ovr rating of the legend or UL is solely determined by when they happen to be released. Just because Champ Bailey is released first and Dick Lebeau is released later, Champ is a 91 and Lebeau is a 94??? I say have an ovr window for legends (90-95 is this year, I’d prefer 91-94, but whatever), and release the legend at the ovr that most reflects their skills. Lawrence Taylor and Deion should always be at the top ovr because they were the best at their position.
Who cares if you're releasing a 92 and a 93 legend the same week? I’d rather have the ratings and ovr actually correlate with their skills and impact on the game.
Just because it’s May doesn’t mean that every UL should be a stock 99ovr while Calvin Johnson, LT, NTL, etc are 98’s. We’ve got some borderline legends coming up that are going to have better ratings than these all time greats simply because some dude at EA thought they’d make more money if they were release in May instead of February. It makes no sense to me.

I get that, but a 97 UL would still be usable this year, I’ve still got several on my team that all easily chem to 99. I think 97-99 for UL’s is a window that makes sense

MUT does not come CLOSE to reality, that's my beef. IRL does anyone think Dog Whacker was the best QB to ever live? He was a short term circus act for God's sake.
I really don’t think this change would mess with pack buys that much. People rip bundles based more on the name than the ovr imo, lets just be more accurate with the ratings.
I think a Legend or UL release that has Steve Hutchinson, Dick Lebeau, and Bill Romanowski will always be low even if their ovr’s are high, just like a weekend with Moss, Vick, and Ed Reed will be much more enthusiastic. So what’s wrong with releasing a 91 LeBeau and 94 Moss in the same weekend? They’re still legends being released in the game, people will still be disappointed by Lebeau, and beyond excited for Moss

Most likely because at the time they start a 94 is higher than they want and after a month, a 91 is too low to keep people buying packs.
Agreed. I like variety. Its ultimate team after all. I want my team to feel ultimate while football is still active.
We get mostly +1 or 2s at positions incrementally all year. It feels more geared towards balancing sal cap then it does building an ultimate team most the year.
I'd love if they pushed out some 99 deions first month make it limited to 100 max. Even if I couldnt afford them it be fun seeing in their line up and going against truly OP players.
No ones op anymore until well after real football is over that's boring to me.
Just dont feel so ultimate team when 6 months team is under 90 ovr.
